BSI demonstrates business excellence with global accreditation announcement

Press release - 4th September 2012

BSI’s global accreditation status has been reconfirmed for another four years following rigorous evaluation of its systems and procedures by ANAB (ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board).

The award follows the company’s successful achievement in meeting the requirements of the ISO/IEC 17021:2011 transition last year.

Accreditation is essential for certification bodies such as BSI in order to demonstrate competence and impartiality in auditing and certifying organizations which conform to management system standards.

Global accreditation therefore remains one of BSI’s core assets, providing the company with a secure backbone from which it helps businesses across the world improve and grow through independent and credible assessment of management systems.

As such BSI continues to offer a wide range of standards under ANAB accreditation with a total of 17 standards and schemes including core management system standards such as ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environmental), BS OHSAS 18001 (health and safety) and ISO 27001 (information security).

“In an ever more competitive and challenging business environment, complacency is not an option,” says Frank Lee, Group Accreditation Compliance Manager. “BSI is about helping organizations achieve excellence, therefore it is critical that we are able to demonstrate that we as a business practise what we preach and conform to stringent standards ourselves.

“As well as maintaining global accreditation with ANAB, BSI is also assessed by over 26 other accreditation bodies throughout the world including UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service. This not only ensures that BSI’s customers receive the very best service but provides BSI with a platform for growth by increasing market confidence in the management system certification services it offers.”
